Arain Shadi is a matrimonial (marriage proposal) service for adults. To help you find a suitable match, we ask for personal details such as your name, age, profession, sect, location, residence details and your likes and dislikes. This policy explains exactly what we collect, why we need it, who can see it, and how you can control or delete it. By creating an account and using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account Information
- Full name and profile/display name.
- Mobile phone number and/or email address.
- Password or login credentials (stored in protected form) and account verification details such as one-time codes.
1.2 Matrimonial Profile Information
Because Arain Shadi is a marriage app, we ask you to build a profile so that suitable proposals can be matched and shown. This may include:
- Personal details: name, age and/or date of birth, gender, marital status, height and similar basic details.
- Profession and education: occupation, job title or business, employer or field of work, and education.
- Sect: your religious sect or school of thought, if you choose to provide it.
- Location: your country, city and area.
- Residence details: where you currently live, residential status (for example, living in Pakistan or abroad), type of residence (for example, own or rented house) and similar living-situation details.
- Family details: information about your family that you choose to share, such as family background or number of siblings.
- Likes and dislikes: your interests, hobbies, lifestyle choices and the qualities you are looking for, or do not want, in a life partner (partner preferences).
- Photos: profile photographs you choose to upload.
- About me: any description or other text you write in your profile.
1.3 Sensitive Information
Some profile details, such as your sect (religious belief), marital status and family details, can be sensitive. We collect this information only because it is commonly important when families and individuals consider a marriage proposal, and only when you choose to provide it. We use it only to build your profile and to show and match proposals. You may leave optional fields blank or change them at any time from your profile settings.
1.4 Profiles Created on Behalf of a Family Member
Parents, guardians or relatives may create a profile on behalf of an adult family member. If you do this, you confirm that the person is at least 18 years old and has agreed to have their profile and information placed on Arain Shadi.
1.5 Website Registration
If you register your interest on our website, we collect the name, email address and any phone number or city you enter on the registration form, along with the date and time and the IP address the form was sent from. We use these details only to contact you about Arain Shadi and to prevent repeated or automated submissions.
1.6 Communications and Activity
- Interests, proposals, requests, likes, shortlists and messages you send or receive, where these features are available.
- Reports and blocks you submit about other users, and messages you send to our support team.
- How you use the Service, such as profiles viewed, searches, filters used and features used.
1.7 Device and Technical Information
We may receive device model, operating system and version, app version, IP address, language, crash logs, diagnostic data and device or app identifiers needed for login, security, push notifications and technical operation.
1.8 Device Permissions
- Camera and photos: requested only when you choose to take or upload a profile photo.
- Location: if the app asks for device location, it is used only to fill in your city or show nearby proposals, and only after you give permission. You can use the app by entering your city manually instead.
- Notifications: used to tell you about new proposals, messages and account updates.
You can turn these permissions off at any time in your device settings.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Create, verify and manage your account.
- Create and display your matrimonial profile to other members.
- Suggest and match proposals based on your age, profession, sect, location, residence details, likes, dislikes and partner preferences.
- Allow members to search, filter, send interest and communicate, where these features are available.
- Send important notifications about proposals, messages, security and your account.
- Provide customer support and respond to your requests.
- Review reported profiles and content, and detect and prevent fake profiles, fraud, harassment, spam and misuse.
- Maintain, troubleshoot and improve the Service.
- Comply with applicable laws and lawful requests.
We do not use your sect, family details or other sensitive information for advertising, and we do not sell your personal information.
3. Who Can See Your Profile
Arain Shadi works by showing your profile to other members who may be a suitable match. Your name (or display name), age, profession, sect, city, residence details, likes, dislikes, photos and other profile details you add may be visible to other registered members, according to the features and privacy settings available in the app.
Your phone number and email address are not shown publicly on your profile unless you choose to share them, or unless a feature clearly tells you they will be shared (for example, after a proposal is accepted).
Please do not put passwords, bank or card details, CNIC or passport numbers, your exact home address or other highly confidential information in your profile or messages.
4. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in these cases:
- With other members: the profile information you choose to display, and messages you send to them.
- Service providers: trusted companies that provide hosting, databases, cloud storage, SMS/OTP verification, push notifications, analytics, crash reporting or customer support for us. They process data only on our instructions and for these purposes.
- Legal reasons: when required by law, court order or a lawful request from authorities, or to protect the rights, safety and property of our members, the public or Arain Shadi.
- Safety: when reasonably necessary to investigate fake profiles, fraud, harassment or other violations of our Terms of Service.
- Business transfer: if the Service is part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case this policy will continue to protect your information.
5. Third-Party Services and SDKs
The app may use third-party services and SDKs (for example, Google Firebase or similar services) for authentication, push notifications, analytics, crash reporting and hosting. These providers may collect device and usage information as described in their own privacy policies. Our Google Play Data Safety section describes the data collected and shared by the current version of the app, including by these SDKs.
Pages on our website may embed a YouTube video. When you play an embedded video, YouTube may set cookies and collect usage data under Google's own privacy policy.
6. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for data sent between the app and our servers, access controls, protected password storage and secure hosting. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Data Retention
We keep your information while your account is active and for as long as needed to provide the Service. If you hide or deactivate your profile, it will no longer be shown to other members. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information as described below, except for limited information we must keep for legal, security, fraud-prevention or dispute-resolution purposes, which is kept only as long as necessary.
8. Account and Data Deletion
You can request deletion of your Arain Shadi account and associated personal data at any time:
- Inside the app: use the account deletion option in settings, where available.
- Without the app: follow the steps on our Account Deletion page, or email privacy@arainshadi.com or info@rankersolutions.com with the subject "Account Deletion Request" and your registered phone number or email.
After we verify the request, we will delete your profile, photos, profile details (including name, age, profession, sect, location, residence details, likes and dislikes) and account data, normally within 30 days. Limited records may be kept longer only where required for legal, security or fraud-prevention reasons. Messages you already sent to other members may remain visible to them.
9. Your Choices and Rights
- View, edit or correct your profile information at any time.
- Leave optional fields (such as sect, residence details or likes and dislikes) blank.
- Choose which photos and details to show on your profile.
- Block or report other members.
- Turn off notifications and device permissions in your device settings.
- Request a copy of your data, or deletion of your account and data.
10. Age Requirement and Children's Privacy
Arain Shadi is only for adults aged 18 years or older. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that a profile belongs to a person under 18, we will remove it. If you believe a minor is using the Service, please contact us. Our Child Safety Standards explain this in detail.
11. Cookies on Our Website
Our website may use cookies or similar technologies for basic functionality, security and analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
12. International Processing
Our servers and service providers may be located in countries other than your own. When your information is processed outside your country, we take reasonable steps to keep it protected as described in this policy.
